I really love adventure; I love to travel learn and grow.
Every day I find a new thing to say or do or know.
But there’s so very many options as I scurry to & fro...
I used to get confused by which direction I should go.
Down the path or up the hill?
Over fields or ‘round the mill?
Should I bake a cake or ride my bike?
Pat the cat or take a hike?
Should I study hard or have a rest?
How do I know what would be best?
Left or right, up, or down?
Feast with friends or go to town?
Should I climb a mountain or plant a tree?
Do my chores, or drink some tea?
Which way is the best to go?
Well... I can tell you if you’d like to know!
One day I felt a tugging, and I jumped up off my seat,
Suddenly I found that I had very itchy feet!
I felt the urge to travel, to set off and see the world,
And so off I went, and this is how everything unfurled...
I set forth due north with high hopes to see some stunning sights,
I climbed snowy mountains with cool fresh air and saw sparkling Northern Lights.
I then turned east and that was also bucket loads of fun;
I saw elephants, ate spicy food, and hailed the rising sun.
Next I sailed south upon the brisk and briny breeze,
I spotted seals and playful penguins in the chilly southern seas.
Then I followed the sun to see it set, far into the wild west…
Where glittering cities with modern marvels had me quite impressed!
My compass always showed me north, south, east, and west,
But it didn’t ever tell me which direction was the best.
But as I travelled this and that way, over there and under here,
Something wonderful and magical gradually became clear:
I found that as I thought on each option one by one,
One of them would call to me as being the most fun!
And if I listened to that call, and followed JOY with all my might,
Then everything would fall in place and be perfect, fun and right!
Now this method guides me through every night and every day.
In each moment I can always find the best and brightest way.
So now I never worry, I just follow how I feel.
I know the guidance of my heart is strong & wise and real.
