Carole Lander
Carole studied writing and editing at RMIT Melbourne after a long career in the education sector. She discovered her flair for writing for children when a her short story Mimi’s Gift was bought and published by Ziptales (educational website in Australia and UK). Two of her stories are published in the Short Tales for Kids Anthologies – A Present from Paris (anthology 1) and Another World (anthology 2).
An excerpt from Another World is published at Smashwords as a result of winning a place in the Creative Kids Tales 2014 eBook Anthology Competition. In this, Alicia time-travels to ancient Egypt from a potter's studio.
In 2016 Carole published two chapter book stories under the title In My World. The stories are Basketball Tree and Wheels of Fire and in both, the main character lives with a disability but this does not prevent them having adventures and achieving goals. Carole’s first published non-fiction book was Little People Big Lives which profiles people living with dwarfism.
Since beginning her RMIT studies in 2010 she has been a published author of memoir, opinion, travel and review in a range of publications. See the Writing page at www.checkword.com.au for full details.
