Carole Lander
Carole studied writing and editing at RMIT Melbourne after a long career in the education sector. She discovered her flair for writing for children when a her short story Mimi’s Gift was bought and published by Ziptales (educational website in Australia and UK). Several of her stories are published in the Short Tales for Kids Anthologies – A Present from Paris (anthology 1) Another World (anthology 2), Revving Up (anthology 3), Puffin Pip's Big Sea Adventure (anthology 4), Christmas Dreams (Christmas Tales 3) and One More Wish (Christmas Tales 4).
An excerpt from Another World is published at Smashwords as a result of winning a place in the Creative Kids Tales 2014 eBook Anthology Competition. In this, Alicia time-travels to ancient Egypt from a potter's studio.
In 2016 Carole published two chapter book stories under the title In My World. The stories are Basketball Tree and Wheels of Fire and in both, the main character lives with a disability but this does not prevent them having adventures and achieving goals. Carole’s first published non-fiction book was Little People Big Lives which profiles people living with dwarfism.
Since beginning her RMIT studies in 2010 she has been a published author of memoir, opinion, travel and review in a range of publications. See the Writing page at www.checkword.com.au for full details.
