Growing up in Sydney, Australia, Lee Keenan has always had a passion for children’s literature, and took the plunge into becoming an author in 2016.
Having completed a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education) in 2003 she has spent 15 years in the Early Childhood Industry, working with children aged 0‐12 years. In addition, she has a Diploma of Business Management and a Diploma of Children’s Professional Writing.
Lee started her own business in 2013 creating online educational materials and teaching resources, in an effort to assist educators to extend on children’s learning.
When not working on her writing, you can often catch Lee cooking, running or hanging out with her husband and two kids, causing all sorts of fun mischief.
Lee release her first picture book, ‘Animals Can Dance’ in March 2018 through New Holland Publishers.
It has been described as a beautifully illustrated and heart warming story about a determined young girl trying to prove her brother wrong. Seen through the eyes of Poppy, children will travel the world to discover the national animals of different countries and their national dances
