Fiona C Lloyd
Fiona C Lloyd has always been fascinated by words, especially juicy, chewy roll around the mouth words. As a child, she loved reading so much she frequently snuck a torch under the covers to 'just get to the end of this chapter, and this one, and this one.’ She dreamed of being an author in a cosy country cottage, but ups and downs happened and writing just didn’t, until she realised that what she needed was right there all along - a seed of self-belief and the desire to work really really hard.
Fiona is a member of SCBWI, volunteers on the Creative Kids Tales committee writing feature introductions for the website, and is a volunteer role model for Books in Homes.
Fiona has studied at the Australian Writers Centre Sydney, with recent achievements being long-listed in the 2019 Greenleaf Blossoms YA competition, and a shortlisting in the 2018 Scribbles Junior Fiction competition. She has two short stories published in the Creative Kids Tales Story Collection 2019.
When not writing, Fiona is a colour grader responsible for the look of Australian show Home and Away. She also runs ‘Coast Write’, a social creative group on the NSW Central Coast, which connects local authors, illustrators, editors and more. Coast Write can be found via her facebook page.
