Pip Reid is an Australian author and artist whose passion is writing children’s illustrated stories for primary school age (3-7yrs). Pip has written nine children’s illustrated books, including a 5- book series and four standalone books. She has a publishing contract for her first standalone book with a UK publisher.
Pip has been writing for a number of years – in her head, on paper and on the screen…”I was doing a lot of training without knowing it” – “my first book took me six months to write – my second book took 1 day.”
Pip lived as an expat in London (18 months) and Beijing (15 months), during which time she ticked off a number of bucket list items, including painting and writing.
Pip has exhibited in a number of art exhibitions. As an artist Pip is visually motivated and her stories evolve from colourful imagery, observation and imagination. Pip enjoys the impact illustrated books have on wide-eyed avid child listeners who respond “read it again”, “do you have another story” and “where are the pictures” – children are the best critics! – and for adult readers who enjoy the subtle messages and nuances.
Pip’s aim is to encourage the love and joy of reading in children and to bring laughter and pleasure into children’s lives throughout the world.
