The race to assemble the dream machine continues, as Sam and his friends do their best to reassemble and return to their mission, to find the dreamers and the gears, after the bombing of the academy by Stella and her minions.
Sam’s dreams continue, leading him to believe the location of the next dreamer to be in Brazil. While Sam sets off to find the dreamer, Shiva and Alex do battle in the cyber trenches, and with Shiva’s techno innovations, manage to find a way to defeat Matrix.
Meanwhile, Eva and Lora have their own trouble, as an unlikely alliance with the Enterprise is tested, which turns out to be a double-double cross.
Over in Brazil, Sam may have found Raffa, the next dreamer, but their journey to a lost city to find the gear is not without peril, as Hans and his men lay in ambush.
The story is of course not over, as we leave Sam and Raffa dangling in mid-flight and Stella with a dart gun close by.
I suggest that one reads the previous books in the series, to gain the most from this instalment.
Fans of this YA series, will certainly enjoy the next instalment, with its fast paced chapters and easy camaraderie amongst the many and familiar characters.
