Peace by Kirrily Lowe
Published by Wombat Books
When there is mayhem about, it is important to find that safe spot, that peaceful spot inside yourself. This story tells the tale of a little girl battling the storm out to see. A prince called PEACE appears, and while others are calling’ help’, and ‘we might be dead’, the girl and the prince rest, and wait it out calmly.
The illustrations are beautiful, made from recycled and hand made papers. I found them absolutely delightful. The story… I think the storm is meant to portray the hard times, and how you should stay calm, and think things through, and not panic… I had to read the story a few times, but I guess it could also be taken at face value.
Written as a poem, it is suitable for preschool children.
