Billy is a Dragon - Werewolves Beware! written by Nick Falk & Illustrated by Tony Flowers
Published by Random House Australia
Billy is having trouble with his shape shifting abilities. In fact, he is stuck halfway between Billy and dragon. No matter how much he tries he can’t go one way or the other. Hiding ones wings at the dinner table proves to be challenge in itself. Introducing Onion Boy and Capsicum Girl!
At the end of book 1 author Nick Falk alluded to the fact that Billy had an enemy of the four legged furry and really scary kind but that’s all we got. Now book 2 we find out there is indeed a werewolf after Billy. And it’s going to stop at nothing to get him!
He can hear it in his garden and so can Bertha, it’s tormenting him at school. Everywhere Billy turns he’s looking over his shoulder and when his sister, Becky is kidnapped Billy must decide whether to rescue her, after all she is rather annoying.
Billy has no idea who is after him. Could it be the teacher whose hair he set on fire? Is it Bertha or maybe Jeannie? Some quick deduction skills works out that it is someone who is already close to Billy. Eeeek!
With soccer trials just around the corner and the hint of impending death in the air Billy is going to need the help of his best friend Jeannie more than ever.
Benny who we also discovered in Billy is a Dragon - First Bite can transform into a hamster. Perhaps not the ideal animal to fend off a werewolf but as Billy discovers every ally counts big or small.
Oh and don’t forget Billy’s pet parrot, Polly who squawks the most inappropriate things.
Books 3 and 4 are due out this month.
Nick Falk and Tony Flowers have again partnered to create a fun story that the whole family can get into.
