The Bear Said Please written by Jacque Duffy
Published by Wombat Books
Bear wakes with a growl, and so does his tummy. He decides, of course, he needs some honey. So off he goes on his search for satisfaction. He happens upon some bees in the trees. He takes without out asking, and the bees get very mad. Bear realises, how rude he had been, so he amends his ways, by saying please. The bees see that Bear has changed his ways and they share their honey with great delight.
We enjoyed this very much and would recommend it as a great kindergarten read aloud.
This was a lovely book with a very useful message. They rhyme is simple, but it works really well. I read this with my almost three year old and she loved the illustrations. You can’t help but love Bear, despite his bad manners.
I believe this book will endear children aged 3-6 as they journey along the pathway of life, learning to ask before taking and share with joy, just like the busy bees.
