Riley and the Jumpy Kangaroo by Tania McCartney
Tania McCartney is also credited with the photographs and layout of this book.
We join Riley the Little Aviator on his 5th amazing adventure, this time around picturesque Canberra. And just in time to celebrate their Centenary.
Riley and his friends, Panda, Dragon, Lion, Koala and of course the ever reluctant Wombat are enjoying some quiet time hanging out at Parliament House when a strange thumping sound outside sparks their curiosity.
They are amazed to discover a kangaroo popping and pinging all over the lawn outside Parliament House. And so the chase begins…
Riley heads straight for his little tin red plane, complete with friends tucked away safely in his bag, some happier than others to be embarking on a new adventure.
They follow the crazy kangaroo all over Canberra, bouncing by some of our country’s most recognised land marks the National Museum, Black Mountain Tower, the Botanic Gardens the War Memorial and more.
A little stop at a Manuka café is not what the doctor ordered. Uh oh! Coffee hit.
Riley and his crew hide patiently amongst the tulips at Commonwealth Park waiting to see what Kanga will do next. She appears to of found what she was looking for. Did you spot the gnome hiding in the book?
Interestingly, the photos in this book are mainly black and white. The colour creeps in here and there until they arrive at Commonwealth Park where the pages then come alive with colour.
Tania has again captured the excitement and adventure of Riley the little Aviator in this gorgeous new book.
With Kanga now part of Riley’s team, who knows where their adventures will take them next time? I can’t wait to find out.
