Ghost Club 3 by Deborah Abela
The word Transylvania often sends chills down people's spines and conjures up thoughts of Dracula, Vlad the Impaler or the Prince of Darkness. Whatever you call him, he is undoubtedly the King of the Vampires. I hear a sigh and quiet murmur 'not another vampire story'. Relax; nothing could be further from the truth. Well not quite.
Ghost Club 3 – A Transylvanian Tale revisits the world of twins, Edgar and Angeline Usher and the Ghost Club's newest recruit, Dylan Fleischmann, the Grandmaster's grandson.
The three, accompanied by the whole Usher tribe eagerly set off for the annual Ghost Club Convention, this time in….. You guessed it – Transylvania.
Dylan in true form is more than his usual anxious self about this trip. He imagines all kinds’ scenarios. You would think that every spirit there ever was was about to descend at Hotel Varcolac and punish him for the catching’s of ghost catchers past and present. This is pretty much the theme for Dylan throughout the book.
Grandma Rose is nervous about the unveiling of her newest inventions. While fellow inventor, Finkman, makes a surprise revelation. Reliable Arthur Usher is still whipping up his culinary delights, much to the horror of his adoring children.
But the one they are all waiting to see is Ripley Granger. The women of the Ghost Club quickly transform into screaming teenagers at the sight or mention of his name. You can ask anyone, Ripley is only the bestest ever ghost catcher in the world. He has over 900 catches to his credit and handsome to match. With the ladies swooning at his every word the untimely announcement of his retirement sends shock waves around the Ghost Club.
Strange things keep happening to Angeline. Has she upset someone or something from the other side?
And just when it appears the entire spirit world has gone mad, its clear Ripley is needed now more than ever. But he doesn't want a bar of it! Will our three heroes be able to change his mind?
Dylan's not convinced all is what it seems, especially with Ripley Granger.
The trio's new friend, Dragos, knows more than he's letting on or does he?
Ghost Club 3 is loaded with new gadgets, new mysteries to solve and a new relationship to be discovered.
