The Adventures of Pipi the Pink Monkey by Carlo Collodi
Published by Alma Books Limited
Pipi isn’t like his four brothers or the other young monkeys living in the forest of Hullabaloo: he has bright-pink fur, a mischievous character and a rebellious streak that lands him into all sorts of scrapes. He loses his tail to an ancient crocodile; end up as a valet to a young master, fall into the hands of flying bandits and becomes the emperor of two tribes of apes.
I think that this is a really funny book, especially when he runs away from the valet and ends up returning there. The best part was when Pipi and Alfred (the valet) are reunited and set off overseas together to visit Alfred’s parents.
I give this book a 8 ½ / 10 because it didn’t really make much sense that Alfred’s parents lived overseas and also because it was a bit confusing sometimes, because the events were changing really quickly.
