Chip by Kylie Howarth

Chip, like most other gulls, would do anything for fish and chips.
When he's banned from his favourite food, he is desperate to get it back on the menu.
So Chip hatches a brilliant idea to solve his problem. . .
But has he gone too far this time?
Author and illustrator, Kylie Howarth has written an entertaining story about Chip the seagull who loves chips - fat chips, skinny ships, soggy chips, sandy chips, crunchy little bits of chips and even spicy chilli-dipped chips. Chip's life is bliss until there were no more chips, not even a single crumb! So Chip has to become creative in his endeavours to gain his culinary delight. He gathers his gull friends together and make a secret stealthy plan and join an air show to put on the performance of their lives with amazing stunts. As the gulls wow the crowd above the hot chip van, hot chips fly into the air along with a great cheer. Joe (the hot chip man) cottons on to the crowd attracting spectacle and sets about his own plan involving the gulls. Kylie Howarth has complemented her engaging story with wonderful illustrations that remind me of the seaside, holidays and fish and chips.
Children who have experienced seagulls and hot chips will relate well to this story. It will take them back to when they were marauded by seagulls until they fed them a hot chip - then suddenly, one hundred friends of the seagull appear from nowhere, all after a share of your fat chips, skinny ships, soggy chips, sandy chips, crunchy little bits of chips and even spicy chilli-dipped chips.
