The Wonderful Habits of Rabbits by Douglas Florian
Published by The Five Mile Press
The habits of rabbits are many, not few, with plenty of things that they love to do!
Join a family of rabbits as they have all kinds of fun throughout the day! From digging holes to building snow rabbits to thumping their feet, these rabbits have many special habits.
And at the end of the day, when it's time to say “goodnight,” there is one habit of rabbits that's not to be missed.
Author, Douglas Florian has created a catchy rhythmic and rhyming fictional text about adorable rabbits and their habits. There is plenty to do in the book from the catchy rhythm of the read aloud rhyming text, to spending time discovering and investigating the interesting elements in the illustrations by talented illustrator, Sonia Sánchez. I know I certainly spent a good deal of time looking at each individual rabbit on each page and then deciding which one was my favourite, including counting all of the rabbits throughout the book - a number, which is something over and beyond 43…
'The Wonderful Habits of Rabbits' is a fabulous picture book for children aged 4 - 8 years. I recommend 'Habits of Rabbits' for use in educational settings as well as at home, due to the lyrical rhyme and the way it lends itself with ease to counting and the creative arts.
The story is paced ideally to keep the attention span and interest of the reader, while the illustrations will captivate curious eyes and have children illustrating their own rabbits.
