The Bad Guys - Mission Unpluckable by Aaron Blabey
Published by Scholastic Australia
With a promise of "Get ready to laugh up your lunch as the baddest bunch of do-gooders in town get up to even more funny business" I knew I was in for a treat. The Bad Guys - Mission Unpluckable is a hilarious tale of a motley crew of animals - a wolf, a shark, a piranha and a snake - who have a bad reputation and are trying to do a little bit of good.
The bad guys, or the good guys as they prefer to be known hatch a plan to break into a chicken facility and set free 10,000 chickens. The only problem is the facility is unbreakable. The team need to call in a sidekick computer expert to help them with the plan - unfortunately for the shark, it's a tarantula. Hilarity ensues when it becomes clear that the shark has a fear of spiders. Will he overcome his fear to help his friends in the rescue?
All doesn't go well with the plan when it becomes clear that the snake has quite a different plan in mind for the chickens, after all snakes love chickens. Thankfully the team do succeed in their plan, but have unfortunately crossed the wrong person in the mean time, episode three of this tale is sure to be hilarious.
The book is set out in a comic book format, with plenty of hilarious pictures to amuse and help break up the story. This is an easy read for most young children, and one that I'm sure many parents would not mind reading along with their children too.
