Captain Underpants and the Tyrannical Retaliation of the Turbo Toilet 2000 by Dav Pilkey

‘The Turbo Toilet strikes back! The carnivorous commode known for devouring everything in its path has built up a real appetite…for REVENGE!’
This is the eleventh novel in the critically acclaimed Captain Underpants series created by Dav Pilkey. Luckily though, as it is the first time I’ve had the pleasure of reading the bizarre exploits of George, Harold, and Captain Underpants, the book is introduced with a quick catch up on what’s happened previously. George and Harold, the two pint sized heroes of this saga, certainly are busy boys! Constantly having to save the fate of humanity is hard to do when you have school and homework to do. The mischievous two, with the help of their unlikely superhero, Captain Underpants (the alter ego of their unknowing grumpy school principal), again have to save the human race from the destructive force of the Turbo Toilet 2000. This crazed robot wants revenge for previously being beaten and left for scrap on Uranus.
The book is full of silly toilet humour, perfect for cheeky young ones, wanting to have a good laugh whilst reading. The many zany and ridiculous adventures that the gang fall into, plunges them through both space and time, where they meet an array of comical characters, along with their yesterday selves. Teachers losing their minds (and clothes), hybrid hamster dinosaurs, and a squid-like time travel suit are just a few of the quirky concepts brought to life through Pilkey’s extraordinary imagination. The high paced adventures and wacky scenarios are a laugh a minute, and the illustrations and comic book styled layout, make for a very entertaining read for a young fun-seeking mind.
Definitely a book I’d recommend to any child who thinks books are boring.
