The Space Hero Cookbook by Barbara Beery

We all love a themed party and if you have small boys then this is the book for you! From the health giving Green Galaxy dip to the scary kaleidoscope of food colouring Intergalactic Birthday cake, the book has it all from red-light treats to ‘sometimes’ food to good to pig out on green light.
The photography is amazing and really captures the space warrior feeling. Some recipes are easy – Wormhole Rollups look healthy and I’m sure the kids would enjoy helping out. Interstellar Space Fighter Cookies look AMAZING but may push this space mamma into a black hole. (Having a kid’s birthday party? May the force be with you!)
Beery also has a wonderful collection of craft ideas to help decorate your party area. The Gamma Glow Jars are out of this world! There are also plenty of party craft ideas such as Supernova Soaps if you find yourself in a space time warp.
There are enough sweet and savoury recipes and resources that you could pick and choose a good combination of easy to the more elaborate.
Each page is well set out and easy to follow. Every recipe has a photo. I really like the fun asides on each page. Here is Red Alert Ravioli’s
“The first red alert system was developed by the commander of the Carmellion battlecruiser, whose crew was, unfortunately, completely colour blind!”
I recommend for all Buzz Lightyear wanna bees from two to ten.
