Imagine by Emma Mactaggart
Published by Boogie Books
Imagine is a tightly rhyming whimsical journey of imagination and silliness. Mactaggart invites us to imagine zoo animals morphing into everyday objects and the fun and chaos it would cause.
My personal favourites are the lyrebird piano and the flying meerkat cereal bowl.
Of course, we all know that imagination is the foundation for EVERYTHING IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE so this is one mighty important book as it prompts the child to see outside her/himself and the endless possibilities that can be cogitated without the aid of an ipad or a television.
The illustrations are delicate and charming and the colourful key words are eye catching. The text drums along nicely and it is fun to read out loud.
The last line – IT’S YOUR IMAGINATION- LET IT RIP, LET IT ROAR is the best advice we can give to any child.
