Wesley Booth Super Sleuth by Adam Cece
Published by Scholastic Books Australia
Wesley Booth is a 10-year-old Super Sleuth, which is a like detective, only awesomer.
He lives in Hub Hill and goes to school at Hub Hill Primary. At Hub Hill Primary, everything is being stolen!!
At first, Wesley Booth is notified when apples or lunchboxes or canteen money is lost. But then his friend Grubber’s bike is stolen, and one of the teachers has her hand bag stolen. Wesley is surprised to find a lolly wrapper with the colours of the German flag on it at the scene of each crime.
What does this all mean?
Suddenly, missing things are a daily occurrence at Hub Hill Primary.
Who is responsible for the thefts?
It is Wesley’s job to find out who the Hub Hill Heister is. But it is not easy with a new school girl who hates him and tries to steal his spotlight, a mum who is demanding her graphic organiser back (by the way, that was stolen at Hub Hill Primary too) and threatening to confiscate his detective equipment, lots of people he suspects could have done it and not very much time to solve the case………
To find out if Wesley catches the Hub Hill Heister, you will have to read this book.
Surprisingly, I liked this book, I don’t exactly know why I was drawn to it but once I started reading Wesley Booth Super Sleuth, I wanted to know what happened next. I think this book would be enjoyed by boys and girls aged 6-12, especially if you like solving mysteries.
