Published by Walker Books Australia
Is it possible to fall in love with the words in a book? I think I did. Author, Jandy Nelson shocked me, made me laugh, made me think, and made me question while she guided me on a journey of the lives of twins, Noah and Jude. Her stunning words painted images inside my mind that I will never forget.
I'll Give You The Sun will pull you inside the minds of Noah and Jude - the brother and sister who share a connection that only twins can possess. Noah believes that he and Jude share the same soul. While Jude is highly protective of her twin brother. Their bond cannot be broken, or can it?
Written in first person, this story is told from the point of view of both Noah and Jude. Their perspectives give you insight into each incident that shapes their lives and decisions, revealing titbits of information, giving a glimpse into their hearts and souls.
This is a novel that I want to read again and again, just to let Jandy Nelson take me to a place where I fall in love with her use of artistic, electric words that paint the waiting canvas in my mind.
I adored everything about this book - the love, the laughter, the tragedy and the inspiration, as well as the artwork by Sophie Hayward scattered throughout the novel that depicts the mood of the situations perfectly.
I'll Give You the Sun is a poignant YA novel that beautifully explores the topics of death, secrets, betrayal, loyalty, sexual orientation, acceptance, and being true to yourself. Jandy Nelson's words will weave their way into your heart and you will love life more than you did before.
