The Drowned Kingdom – The Impossible Quest Book 4 by Kate Forsyth
Published by Scholastic Australia
Kate Forsyth's latest novel, "The Drowned Kingdom" is the fourth book of the series The Impossible Quest.
Quinn, Sebastian, Elanor and Tom are on their final quest to find a sea serpent’s scale. The four friends start to lose hope when they think this quest couldn't be more impossible. Suddenly, they understand how to finish the quest.
They begin their journey by travelling to the lost Isles, where the Drowned Kingdom is located. Now, they must venture the seas to find quite an unusual object - a sea serpent’s scale.
They have no idea what is awaiting them. The truth behind the Drowned Kingdom is revealed. Soon, Quinn learns the truth about herself.
I think this book would best suit children between the ages of 8 and 12 because of the choice of vocabulary and the behaviour of the characters.
The reason I liked this book so much is because there were unexpected twists, which made me wonder what would happen next. This book was entertaining and captivated me. I kept flipping through the pages and could not put it down. This book made me think about my past, which was similar to the plot of the book. I gasped at times when I felt as if I were Quinn experiencing extraordinary sights and emotions.
I like the way Kate Forsyth stays on topic and explains the plot through dialogue. This makes it very entertaining.
I would recommend this book very highly to anyone who loves reading thrilling and suspenseful adventures.
