The Sin Eater’s Daughter by Melinda Salisbury
Published by Scholastic Australia
The Sin Eater’s Daughter had me captivated from the blurb alone- “I am the perfect weapon. I kill with a single touch.” The following chapters didn’t disappoint. Set in an ancient time of kings and queens and overarching Gods, lead character Twylla has been believes she has been blessed by the Gods and given the power to kill the enemies of her kingdom with the touch of her bare skin.
This book had everything I was looking for. A story of love and danger, as well as heartbreak and soul searching Twylla takes the readers on a roller coaster journey of discovery with her.
I enjoyed this story immensely and found the writing sharp and punchy with good rhythm. The ending left me wanting to know more, did Twylla and Lief live happily ever after and does the Sleeping Prince make a return? This book will appeal to the tween reader.
