Blue lily, lily Blue Book 3 in The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater
Published by Scholastic Australia
The New York Times bestselling author serves us up the much awaited 3rd book in the Raven Cycle Series. With all the pace and depth of "The Raven Boys" and "The Dream Thieves" the latest instalment follows Blue as she tries to come to terms with her mother’s disappearance and burgeoning feelings for Gansey at the same time.
Very much aimed at the mid to late teens (14 to 17 year olds) of both sexes, it deals with themes of paranormal, relationships, trust, friendship and inequality. This novel is focused on developing the characters, and setting up the action for the last book in the series (due in September). There are still plenty of cliff hangers to keep the reader interested though.
A perfect school holiday read, or a guilty pleasure for older lovers of really good young adult novels.
