Me and Moo by P Crumble
Published by Scholastic Australia
Me is a little boy who has a pet Moo, who lives under his bed. All would be well, if Moo stayed small enough to live under the bed, but unfortunately, he grows. Oh, did I mention he also eats the little boy’s mums purple flowers. Mum finally figures out that Moo is actually living under the bed and she sets some rules. Moo has to live outside, stop eating the flowers and the little boy is no longer allowed to dress him in disguise.
The little boy is somewhat relieved his mum found out about Moo. It was getting tough disguising him is as his Uncle Barry. Moo is now allowed to go to school with the little boy and attend sleep overs. It doesn’t always go well for Moo, as he always gets everything wrong at school and the ghost stories during sleep overs scare him, but it does work out pretty well for the little boy. He finds out that his friends have pets like he does and they all join in have some super awesome playground fun.
Oh and did I mention the little boy has a lion in his closet called Roar!!!
This was a hilarious book. My almost 4 year old loved it first read. The illustrations are really unique. We loved the style and would certainly look forward to more hilarious adventures by this author/illustrator duo. We recommend for ages 3-6.
