Breaking Pointe by Samantha-Ellen Bound
Published by Random House Australia
Riley Nelson loves ballet and she is great at it. She also loves basketball and athletics and is great at them too. She ignores people who say doing all that is too much. But when her ballet eisteddfod, athletics carnival and basketball grand final all end up being on the same day, Riley has to choose which is more important. With the help of her friends Ashley, Ellie and Pagie she chooses two of these three activities.
Which two activities do you think Riley chooses?
How exactly does she decide?

I liked this book because it shows that there is nothing wrong with loving and being great at lots of things, but sometimes we need to make a choice about what is more important. My favorite part of the book was when Riley finally makes her decision ‘calmly’.
I recommend this book to girls aged 6-10, especially if you have a big decision to make.
