Julieann is a book spy, eager to hunt down words that sing to her heart, challenge her thoughts and inspire her to change the way that she looks at people, animals, the environment and life.
Teaching primary aged students for twenty-five years has given her a passion for every child counts, no matter what. Being a mother to three children has given her a parental kindred spirit and deep compassion. And being an independent published author/illustrator of picture books and new adult books, has given her a deep inside knowledge of all of the processes, dedication, and the pouring of heart and soul into the birth of a book.
Julieann is a self-declared picturebook-aholic, chapter book-aholic, read-aholic, smellabook-aholic, choco-holic, word-aholic, illustration-aholic and readoutloudwithdifferentvoices-aholic, all the while sipping on a cup of tea.
After reading around a thousand picture books to children, and hundreds of chapter books, she strongly believes in the power of words and pictures, and knows from experience that the magic of reading, and listening to stories, truly empowers those who read, hear and see.
Albert Einstein said, 'It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.' Julieann knows that books do the same, reaching out and making a difference.
