If I submit a manuscript can you assess it for me?A. Yes. Creative Kids Tales offers a Manuscript Assessment service. Your Assessment will be carried out by our team of assessors consisting of Editors, published Authors and avid readers of the children’s genre. You’ll receive a feedback sheet and written report. Are you a publisher?A. No, but with lots of emerging authors under the one roof we hope to attract publishers to us. Who knows you may go from emerging author to published author just by joining our website. Do I still own my own work once I have submitted?A. Absolutely. We make no claim on your work. We do not aim to benefit financially from any work published as a result of submissions to our website. Our aim is to help you reach your ultimate goal, mainstream publication. See our 'Membership' page for more details.
Can I make multiple submissions?A. You sure can. We would love to build a portfolio of your work on our website. This will also help give you more exposure. Try and submit different pieces in the children’s genre.
How old do you have to be to submit an entry?A. We can’t accept children’s entries at this time. You must be between 18-110 years old. Your work must be original and written for children. Please make sure you send it in Word format and no more than 500 words in total. We’ll accept short stories, picture book stories, poems, chapter books or novels as long as you keep your submissions to a maximum of 500 words. Can I submit unfinished work?A. Yes, if you like. Think of us as shop window, whatever you submit will be displayed as you have presented it to us. We will not edit, format or change your submission in anyway. It’s crucial you follow our submission guidelines ('How It Works' page) to have your work presented in the best possible manner.
