Welcome Tania McCartney to Creative Kids Tales.
The wonderfully talented Tania McCartney is our featured author this month. It wasn't until I visited her website and did my homework that I realised just how talented she is. I even suspect she may just be a little on the superhuman side.
The opening line on her website reads 'Tania McCartney is an Australian author, editor, publisher, photographer, magazine writer, mango devourer and helipad.' As if that wasn't enough she is also the ACT Ambassador for the National Year of Reading. Wow!
Tania is well represented in the areas of children's fiction, non-fiction and has even cracked the adults’ non-fiction market too. Her picture book series ‘Riley the Little Aviator’ has delighted children all across the country. Riley’s adventures have taken him all over Australia and overseas.
Her inspiration for the Riley series started with her very own Riley, her son. Her beautiful daughter, Ella, a self professed horse fanatic is waiting very patiently for her own series.
With more books due out later this year and in 2013 it’s no wonder Tania is securing her place as one of our country’s most popular authors.
When she isn’t plotting out her next story, Tania is helping promote other Australian authors at Kids’ Book Review
www.kids-bookreview.com. She also shares some of her time with Australian
Tania has her own blog at taniamccartney.blogspot.com.au.
Her love of books and colourful personality ensures her a captive audience when presenting to school children. Tania tailors her workshops and readings to cater for both small and large groups. Visit her website http://www.taniamccartney.com for more details.
From her humble beginnings in Tasmania Tania craved adventure. Taking a leaf from Goldilocks book she tried on each state, just to see which one was the best fit. But the call of foreign lands was too great. When the opportunity presented itself she jumped on the first plane and headed off. Her memories of time spent in France, England and China still warm her heart. Tania now resides in Canberra with her supportive husband and two little monkeys, Ella and Riley.
When she isn't juggling being a mother, writer, website host and all round great gal, she loves kicking back, eating mangos and is not afraid to tantalise her tongue with some wasabi from time to time.
After all this I realise that Tania McCartney is indeed superhuman or perhaps masquerading as a talented juggler!
Creative Kids Tales is honoured to present to you Tania McCartney.
