Vicki Griffin
Although bought up in Sydney as a white person Vicki Griffin discovered her Indigenous heritage in the early 1990s with her mob coming from the Shoalhaven area - Darwal tribe of the south coast of New south Wales.
This inspired her to investigate her cultural and artistic talents and she began writing and painting. Her art not only hangs in local schools and daycares centers but also in Japan.
She completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Communications at the University of New England.
Vicki Griffin is married with four children and in 2001 became guardian of a Torres Strait islander child and is leading him into his culture.
She recently released a children’s picture book titled ‘Nannas Storm’ through Black Ink Press.
My overseas literary agent, based in New York is Virginia Lloyd.
