Rachel Keyes
Rachel is an Early Childhood teacher and mother of two who is passionate about reading to children from birth and loves snuggling up with her daughters, looking at picture books. She enjoys writing short stories, poems and children’s stories, watching the tennis and scrapbooking. Inspirations for her stories evolve from her daughters’ thoughts, feelings and experiences, problems they encounter and the adorable things they say and do.
Last year Rachel had an article on reading published in MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) Better Mum Magazine, a poem published in Positive Words Magazine and received 2nd place in the Creative Kids Tales “Spread Your Wings” competition. This year she plans to enter more writing competitions, work on her children’s picture books and hopefully complete her first junior fiction chapter book.
Rachel’s blog rachelsbooknook.wordpress.com promotes reading, writing competitions, children’s picture books, book clubs, ReadUp, authors and illustrators and the wonderful activities/resources available at libraries. With suggestions and ideas from readers, Rachel is looking forward to exploring new concepts and writing more children’s stories!
