Jumping Juicy Jelly Monsters!
By Ken Williams
One night before bed, Theo brushed his teeth, straightened his pyjamas, tucked Teddy under his arm and crept quietly through the kitchen to say goodnight to Mum.
Unfortunately, crouched on the edge of the lolly cupboard, right beside the biscuit tin, was a delicious red Juicy Jelly Monster.
It eyed Theo up and down. It eyed Theo round and round. It dived off the shelf – ‘RAAAAAGH!’
Theo fell back, crashing into shelves. His mouth flung open and his monster chomping choppers flew into action – Chomp-Chomp-Chomp-Chomp!
Mum rushed to the kitchen.
‘Jumping Juicy Jelly Monsters!’ she howled.
‘I didn’t …’ mumbled Theo. ‘I mean, I wasn’t …’
‘Off to the bathroom, young man,’ said Mum. ‘And brush your teeth.’
Theo brushed his teeth, washed his face and hands, straightened his pyjamas, tucked Teddy under his arm and crept quietly through the kitchen to say goodnight to Mum.
However, lurking behind the biscuit tin were three delicious green Juicy Jelly Monsters. They eyed Theo up and down. They eyed Theo side to side. They sprung off the shelf – ‘RAAAAAGH!’
Theo leapt back, crashing into shelves, his mouth flung open and his monster gobbling gob sprang into action – Gobble-Gobble-Gobble-Gobble!
Mum dashed to the kitchen.
‘Jumping Juicy Jelly Monsters!’ she howled.
‘But I didn’t …’ mumbled Theo. ‘I mean, I wasn’t …’
‘THEODORE!’ said Mum, pointing to the bathroom.
Theo brushed his teeth. Again! Washed his face and hands, straightened his pyjamas, tucked Teddy under his arm, and marched straight to his room.
But, waiting for Theo by his bed was …
… Mum. She tucked Theo in, planted a loving kiss on his forehead, and walked quietly out to the kitchen.
But, crouched on the edge of the lolly cupboard were five delicious all-coloured Juicy Jelly Monsters.
They eyed Mum up and down. They eyed Mum round and round. They eyed Mum side to side. They pounced off the shelf – ‘RAAAAAGH!’
Mum fell back, banging into shelves. Her mouth flung open and her jelly munching jaw jumped into action – Chomp-Chomp-Chomp-Chomp!
Theo sprinted to the kitchen.
‘Jumping Juicy Jelly Monsters!’ he howled.
‘I didn’t …’ mumbled Mum. ‘I mean, I wasn’t …’
Suddenly, an entire packet of colourful Juicy Jelly Monsters sprung off the shelf, ‘RAAAAGHH!’
Mum and Theo fell backwards, banging against shelves. Their monster munching mouths flew open and munched monsters all through the kitchen – Munch-Munch-Munch!
Ends.
