Catherine Walker
Catherine is a child at heart…
She knows that if you stand still for long enough and really look you can experience the world with the playful, unspoilt fascination and sheer joy of a child.
This belief combined with exploring the imaginations of the very children who inspire her the most, lead her to complete ‘My Baby Sister is a Rocket Scientist’. It is a quirky, delightful tale written from the imaginative perspective of a four year old coming to terms with the antics of a baby sister who has turned’ life as we know it’ upside down!
Catherine spends her days alongside children ….
She teaches Primary School PE and then goes home to the delights of her own precious daughters. She has a Bachelor of Education Degree with both Primary and Early Childhood specialisation and has had the pleasure being a Classroom Teacher and Early Intervention Reading Specialist during her career. She believes that every child has a right to be immersed in wonderful world of literature.
Catherine was writing when she was a child…
From a young age Catherine knew that writing made her feel good but it also gave her a great deal of joy, energy and, excitement all at the same time. She grew up in New Zealand and inspired by parents who were writers, loved nothing more than to share her stories with peers. She edited a magazine at high school, had articles published and even wrote successful business sales copy published online in later years.
Catherine would love to share the joy waiting to leap off the pages of her completed work with all children. She is currently working on two more manuscripts ‘Wilbur the Run Away Shopping Trolley’ and ‘The Window Family’.
