Tour at the Tales

Welcome to Creative Kids Tales

Helping stories come to life.

Creative Kids Tales is an industry recognised site for emerging children's authors and illustrators. We are proud to be a Partner with Love2Read and have been added to the National Library’s Pandora Archives.

Our site contains the necessary tools to assist you whether you are just embarking or continuing your journey to publication.

Whether you write poetry for children, short stories, picture books, chapter book or perhaps you illustrate for children, then Creative Kids Tales is the place for you.

One thing publishers look for when signing up new authors, is their online presence. While you are polishing your submissions, why not let Creative Kids Tales help to build your name within the children’s writing community.

To be a part of the Creative Kids Tales family, Membership packages start from only $20 per year. Membership includes a member profile, photo and to display multiple submissions with us. You will have access to our members forum (exclusive to paid members) and also be featured alongside a well-known author or illustrator on our home page for one month nominated by us.

We make no claim on your submissions. You remain the sole owner of your work. We take the hassle out of creating your own website. If you already have a website that’s fine too, we will include a link to it with your bio. Just go to the How it Works page under the About tab to find out how to join.

Please note:

  • CKT are NOT Publishers
  • We do not offer Manuscript Assessment Services
  • We do not provide feedback or edit your submissions
  • We are not solely responsible for promoting your work
  • We DO provide a service for Australian children’s authors or illustrators seeking additional exposure for their work
  • We assist those who are currently unpublished by mainstream publishers (i.e. self-published is ok).

  • 'I stumbled on to Creative Kids Tales by accident. I thought it was kid's tails. I'd been doing some research about goats and how their tails were actually a fifth leg, a very long time ago. Or did I just dream that? In any case, I was bitterly disappointed at first to find not tails, but tales. However, while I was at the site I had a wander around, and soon discovered that it was even better than a goat's site - no kidding! This is a brilliant haven for writers, new and not so new; a place to showcase their work and to learn from others.' Well done, Georgie. You've done a fantastic job. -

    Bill Condon

It's probably the only Australian website for children's writers that I visit regularly and actually feel part of. When I need motivation, interesting writers to read about, or just a peek at my own 'baby steps' towards being a published writer, I visit the Creative Kids Tales family.' A big thank you to Georgie and Rod for a great website. -
